Voted the best place for outdoor activities in Central Wisconsin by Wisconsin Trails magazine, Wausau is great place to experience all four seasons. With a metropolitan population of over 130,000, the growing metropolis area also has a unique arts and cultural scene. Located along the eastern shore of Lake Wausau, there’s something for everyone, from parks to bike trails and boat launches to all the convenience of a city living.

In the summer, Central Wisconsin and the surrounding Wausau area are known for water sports, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and boating. The Rib Mountain State Park, Wisconsin River, and Lake Dubay are just a few favorite spots. During the fall and winter, hunting, skiing, and snowmobiling are popular activities.

Within the surrounding area of Wausau, there are plenty of education and community involvement opportunities. The central location in the state also makes it easy for friends and family to visit as the Central Wisconsin Airport connects the Wausau area to anywhere in the U.S.
